According to Sam Nartey George, Hon. MP for Ningo – Prampram constituency, “The Ghana Education Service has gone deaf, dumb and mute because it’s the National Youth Organiser of the NPP” He expressed this statement on Tv3’s New Day , newspaper review segment.
Over the weekend, the ruling New Patriotic Party’s National Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, widely referred to as “Nana B” was seen talking to some students in the Ashanti region, supposed to be students of Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS)

Commenting on Nana B’s actions, Sam George lamented, “It is in clear violation of the GES guidelines, Politicking of any sort is prohibited on the campus of any Senior High School”. He added, the laws of our land do not allow you to go and campaign there. Nana B has broken that law”
The lawmaker questioned why the Ghana Education Service has not interdicted the Headmaster/ Headmistress of the said senior high school where Nana B is believed to have campaigned for President Nana Addo. He attributed the silence of the GES to “political hypocrisy “ He cited the suspension of the Headmaster for Tempane Shs as a precedent.
“Remember that this same government of President Akuffo Addo interdicted a Senior High school headmaster for allowing the National Organiser of the NDC to address students in a school… what did Henry Nana Boakye go and do there, did he not campaign and say four more for Nana Addo, was that not politicking? would that headmaster or headmistress be interdicted? what’s good for the goose, is good for the ganda”
He called on the Ghana Education Service to take similar action as was taken when Joshua Akamba visited the school. “The headmaster must be immediately interdicted and investigation commenced”
However, his co-panelist, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Hon MP. for Sekondi disagreed. “I don’t think there is politicking going on at all and I tend to take the position Nana B takes . It is an elections process where political parties are sanctioned by the Electoral Commission
In October 2018, Dominic Ndegu Amolale, Headmaster of Tempane Senior High School in the Upper East region was suspended by the Ghana Education Service for further investigations to be conducted. This followed a trending video of Joshua Akamba the National Organiser of the opposition NDC, “campaigning” to students of Tempane senior high school which was clearly against the GES guidelines on political activities in second cycle institutions.
