In the early hours of Saturday morning, Joycelyn Tetteh, Hon. Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency made a donation to Anfoega Market ahead of tomorrow’s Mother’s Day celebration. The donation was to celebrate the outstanding efforts of mothers who trade in various commodities for the people of Anfoega and beyond. There’s an ongoing renovation to enhance the convenience of market women. She took time to inspect the progress of the renovation and later donated cash and other items to the market women as her way of celebrating them for providing the market needs for the people of the constituency.
As a young female representative in Ghana’s Parliament , Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh seeks to empower women economically as issues of income have been the bane of women’s inability to survive. Contributing her quota to curb the said economic problems being faced by women, she presented a Public Address System (PAS) and a number of plastic chairs to the women. She implored members of the community to hire these plastic chairs and PAS from the women which will in turn generate income for the women to solve minor economic issues.
Traders in Anfoega Market were elated to see the lawmaker. This was a surprise visit to basically put smiles on the faces of women. They couldn’t express their joy enough just as the lawmaker couldn’t express her gratitude to them for being one of the food hubs for the constituency. Mama Edzeame Joycelyn Tetteh as she’s affectionately called also encouraged the women to continue to take good care of their wards for they are the future of not just the constituency but Ghana and the world. The kids around Anfoega market were not left out of today’s donation as the lawmaker shared food items such as Yoghurt and biscuits to them. “Children are the foremost beneficiaries of motherly love”, she said.
Hon. Joycelyn encouraged them to continue being responsible constituents by observing the COVID-19 safety protocols. She stated “ let’s continue abiding by the COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure we maintain the healthy living conditions in our constituency. We can’t afford to lose anyone to the virus”. Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh was accompanied by branch and constituency executives of the NDC in North Dayi Constituency.
